The Right Reverend Dr. Robert Lee Jones

Born on March 9, 1946, Robert Lee Jones was reared in Port Clinton, Ohio.  He received his education at the following institutions of higher learning:

  • The Art Institute of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
  • University of Toledo, Toledo, Ohio
  • Lourdes College of Sylvania, Ohio
  • Lee College of Cleveland, Tennessee
  • Master of Theology Degree, Holy Trinity College and Seminary, Clearwater, Florida
  • Doctor of Theology Degree, Holy Trinity College and Seminary, Clearwater, Florida
  • Honoris Causa, Ph. D. in Religion, North Tennessee Bible Institute and Seminary, St. George Island, Florida

He was a professor for 30 years at Terra State Community College, Fremont, Ohio before retiring from teaching in June 2004.

Family

  • Married Joyce Marie Simmons on February 3, 1968
  • Blessed with three children:
    • Audrey Annette Reed
    • Robert Andrew, deceased
    • Emili Elizabeth Jones

     

Spiritual Journey

  • At the age of 16, he accepted the Lord as his Savior and received the indwelling of the Holy Spirit.
  • Affiliated with several churches:
    • The Glorious Church of God in Christ in Gypsum, Ohio
    • The Church of God in Christ, Inc., in Fremont, Ohio
  • Licensed minister at the age of 18 with the Church of God in Christ
  • Worked in radio ministry in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania
  • In 1971 ordained to Eldership in the Church of God in Christ
  • Founded and pastored several churches:
    • Sandusky Gospel Mission, Sandusky, Ohio
    • St. James Tabernacle COGIC, Sandusky, Ohio
    • Victory Christian Center, Sandusky, Ohio
    • National Evangelist, Founded the Heart of God Ministries, Fremont, Ohio
  • Pastored El Bethel United Pentecostal Church in Clyde, Ohio, for three years
    • Began establishing churches in Trinidad and Tobago, West Indies
  • In 2006 consecrated in Fremont, Ohio, to the Office of Bishop by The Most Reverend Dr. Huron Clay Manning of the Southern Episcopal Church of the United States of America, Nashville, Tennessee

Continuing Ministerial Adventures

  • Founded Rivers of Living Water Ministries International, Inc. in 2000 beginning with eight families
      • His Ecclesiastical Authority of Chief Apostolic Father covering the five-fold ministry has grown from local to national and international

        • Bishop Dr. Richard M. Johnson, Apostolic Father of Rivers of Living Water Ministries International, Inc. from Clarksville, Tennessee
        • Bishop Dr. O. Duane Simmons, Chief of Staff of Rivers of Living Water Ministries International, Inc.
